Hi, I'm Cory, and thanks for making your way to my site. If you're wondering how on earth a guy named Cory Goldberg from New York City is living in India as a wedding photographer, well I suppose this is the part of the site where I do my best to explain that. I've been taking photographs since I was 12 years old. My 6th grade teacher took our class on a photo field trip, and that was that - I was hooked. I shot, developed, and printed my way into New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where I lived the life of a young, wide-eyed, gallery-hopping, camera-toting artist in New York City. I discovered my love of exploring the world there, and it is a part of my character ever since. I have lived in quite a few places in the world, and have had a number of different means of earning a living, besides being a photographer. I've managed a nightclub in San Francisco, studied yoga and lived in ashrams, I was a bartender in Paris, and I endured a few winters in Chicago, where I first started shooting weddings. Then in 2005, on what can only be described as a whim, I travelled to India. And in one of those funny and unexpected twists that life sometimes takes, I embarked on the largest and most colorful chapter of my life. Before I started shooting weddings here, I actually worked in the Bollywood film industry, more often than I care to admit. Most of the films and ads I've done are mildly amusing and/or embarrassing scenes where if you blink, you'd miss me. I did, however, do one ad that I'm rather proud of, and if the guy in the "Incredible India" ad looks familiar to you, well, what can I say? (see link below) In 2006, a friend asked (okay begged) me to shoot his wedding, and I obliged. It was my first "proper" Indian wedding; it was overwhelming, crazy, and so much fun, that I made a career out of it! I've been a candid wedding photographer in India for about as long as there have been candid wedding photographers in India. I'm happy to see people moving out of the traditional kind of wedding photography, and I'm proud to work in an industry where creativity and originality is valued and embraced. I have little interest in making your wedding look like anyone and everyone else's. I enjoy the challenge of creating a unique and breathtaking story of your day, with all the moments and the details and the people, the elephants and the whatever else that made it special. Frankly speaking, any photographer can put a bride and groom in a series of poses in front of a nice background. And while I do cover those basics when I photograph your wedding, my real talent lies in capturing the key moments of joy and celebration that you will look back on for the rest of your life. I think I just made myself go a little teary-eyed. If you'd like to contact me for more details about the way I work, my rates/packages, or just to say hi, please feel free to get in touch anytime. I'm based most of the year in India, though I do spend about 3-4 months in the US during the summer - my equipment is not a fan of India's monsoon humidity. I am available to travel just about anywhere, and am always up for an adventure. I hope to hear from you soon, and I'm looking forward to making some amazing memories with you! Cheers, Cory P.S.
